Telehealth
Allowing your Hand Therapy to continue while you are unable to attend the clinic.
Telehealth is simply the name given to appointments done via telephone or online video conferencing. It is safe and effective for appropriate patients, allowing assessment, advice and treatment to occur in your own “bubble”.
Contact us to find out how we can help, if telehealth is right for you and just how easy this type of consultation is.

Setting yourself up for a Teleheath Video Consult
Our clinic will send you an email with a link on it, the link will be ‘live’ for one hour before your appointment. You will need to download the telehealth ‘platform’ onto your device (for mobiles and tablets only). It pays to test your devices with a friend prior to your telehealth consult, although if you are having problems, we can talk you through it over the phone.
- It is better to set up on laptop or desktop, and headphones if you’d like the conversation to be private. If using a phone, prop it up and sit slightly back from it, so we can see your whole arm.
- Wear a short-sleeved top so both arms are visible from elbow to fingers.
- Consider the environment – is it private and quiet? And it’s a good idea to be where you can move around, so you can try any exercises or movements that the therapist may ask you to show them.
- Make sure your device is charged up! What connection do you have – generally public Wifi is not advised.
- Have paper and pen ready to record any advice or exercises suggested.
