Sarah Norton
Sarah has many talents and experiences to share with our team as she is a Registered Physiotherapist, Hand Therapist, and qualified Massage Therapist.
Sarah has graduated from the University of Otago twice, with her Physiotherapy degree, and a BSc in Anatomy & Structural Biology. Her physiotherapy career started in a public hospital in Wellington, working in many areas of Physiotherapy. She then worked in a musculoskeletal clinic with a multidisciplinary group treating general musculoskeletal conditions. Sarah then decided to focus more on upper limb and hand rehabilitation and has worked in the specific area of hand therapy for many years. In 2017 she achieved full Registered Hand Therapist status.
Sarah has also worked in retail and as a sewing machinist at Macpac, where she recognised the importance of good communication, workplace ergonomics, and teamwork. Her particular passion is hands-on therapy techniques, such as myofascial release and scar tissue release, that can help relieve the pain and discomfort from scars and tight soft tissues.
Her other passion is mountain biking, and since arriving in Christchurch in 2022, she can be found in the hills biking with her family in her spare time.
