PATIENT AND CLINIC INFORMATION

At your first visit, please bring with you any information you may have about your hand problem:
Registration and Consent
The information you give includes contact details and health information which allows us to treat you safely. It will also include details about who referred you. This information will be kept private and confidential, other than that which we are obliged to share under the ACC legislation.
You are welcome to bring a support person or family member to accompany you.
An initial assessment will take 45 minutes, sometimes longer.
At the end of the session you should have a good understanding of the nature of the problem, what you need to do about it and how we can help you with appropriate treatment. We should establish some achievable goals during this time, that are realistic and timely.
Subsequent treatments may take up to half an hour, more if you need splinting or acupuncture.
We endeavour to run to time, and it is extremely helpful if you arrive on time for your appointment, otherwise you will have a reduced treatment time, or be asked to rebook.
Please let reception staff know if you feel you have been waiting too long.
Fees
Our clinic holds a Hand Therapy contract and Pain Management contract with ACC.
Please contact us for further information regarding ACC and private consultation fees.
Gradual process or non-work related gradual process injury claims are treated differently by the various funding bodies. In some instances it may be advisable to wait until you have heard from ACC or equivalent about cover before proceeding with treatment. If cover is declined, you will need to pay the private fees rate for treatment.
Additional paperwork is required if you had surgery for an injury sustained over a year ago. However if ACC has approved the cost of surgery, and post op hand therapy is also usually provided for. Pending ACC32 paperwork has been submitted by us and approved.
Private treatments: Please contact us for current charges, depending on requirements.
Payment is expected at the time of treatment. EFTPOS available at all clinics.
Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us at least 4 hours notice.
Repeated cancellations or unkept appointments may be charged a cancellation fee. Missed appointments are a missed opportunity for you, us and other patients needing the timeslot.

If you have a concern or complaint about your treatment or otherwise at IN TOUCH, please arrange to speak to the Clinic Director via reception, or write to the Clinic Director, PO Box 11-144, Hornby 8443, Christchurch.
